CLIMATE DECLARATION
FOR RH AMBIO
Functional unit: Seating solution manufactured and maintained for 15 years
The climate declaration shows the emissions of greenhouse gases, expressed as CO2-equivalents. It is based on
verified results from a lifecycle assessment (LCA), in accordance with ISO 14025.
Product
The seat and backrest of the
RH Ambio are upholstered
with Ventec™. A unique
product developed by RH,
with great capacity to
transport moisture and heat.
In addition the padding in
seat and back pads and are
made of natural fibre and is
biodegradable.
Company
RH Chairs is one of North Europe’s leading
manufacturers of ergonomic seating. RH Chairs was
established 1977 in Bodafors, in the Småland
region of Sweden, our plant is now located in
Nässjö. Today we are established in Norway,
Denmark, Finland, United Kingdom, France and the
Netherlands, in addition to Sweden. RH
manufacturing plant in Nässjö is certified in
accordance with ISO 9001 and ISO 14001. RH
Chars is a part of Scandinavian Business Seating.
Climate declaration
The study includes production of materials and
parts, assembly, transport to retail and use phase.
Transportation between the processes and
packaging production are included as well. The
studied system also includes waste from the
different life cycle phases.
The results are presented for the following modules:
the upstream module includes production of raw
materials, main parts and components, the core

module includes all production and assembly
processes and the downstream module includes
transport to the customer. No relevant
environmental impact occurs during the use of the
product. Recycling of the product is not included.
The result is presented for one chair including
production and use during 15 years.
